Hillcrest High School Grade 12 Class of 2023 achieved a cumulative 226 distinctuions with top achiever, Joshua Blom, achieving eight As. A total of 185 candidates wrote the NSC examinations in 2023, with 134 achieving a Bachelor’s pass, 37 achieving a Diploma pass and eight achieving a Higher Certificate pass. The overall results were a 96.22% pass rate. The following learners achieved 7 As: Maia Klijnstra (also achieved an additional distinction in the external examination for Further Studies Mathematics), Emma Blackbeard, Samantha Hunter, Kinjil Brijrajh, and Jody Eigenmann. Natasja Degger, Head Girl, achieved 6 As along with Lerushan Viraragavan who also achieved an additional distinction in the external examination for Further Studies Mathematics.

Hillcrest High School offers a wide range of sporting activities for our students. We compete at a consistently high level and can boast provincial and national representation across several of our sporting codes. Our cultural activities range from choir, steel drums, drama, art club to a school newspaper, debating club and Word Sessions which allows students to express themselves through poetry and rap. From our highly successful debating team to our talented artists to our immensely entertaining school plays, Hillcrest High School excels across the cultural spectrum.
Hillcrest High School provides an environment that allows our young leaders to grow and mature, learning from each other and from the example of their teacher mentors. All grade 11 students have the opportunity to attend a leadership camp, and the grade 12 Student Leadership Team (SLT) attend two leadership camps in their grade 12 year. In addition, we participate in the Rotary Youth Exchange Programme and the Global Young Leaders Conference.
Service is a cornerstone of the holistic education Hillcrest High School offers. People to People, Interact and The Margaret Turnbull Project are just a few of the community upliftment projects that the school is involved with. The Angel Fund is an internal project designed to assist the learners in the school.
